‘Leperdoptera’

Dorothy Borzsak is a San Diego gardener, botanical artist, photographer, and pediatric nurse whose creative pursuits center around themes of nature, sustainability, healing, and transformation. She has always had a deep appreciation for ecological diversity, everyday beautiful aesthetics, and indulgences in the natural world. Her artistry focuses on both nature photography as well as sustainable arts/crafts that celebrate both natural abundance and creative reuse. Her work is an invitation to slow down and reconnect with nature.

Flee this place on doctored wings
Whorls of rotting symmetry
Paper thin
Fragile beauty
Held together by splints
And rags
And pills
Got my bell
And millions of tiny rebellious molecules
Moth bitten
Moth eaten
I’m bailing out
