Move Me In

She’s pulling weeds below windows
rearranging my fridge magnets
rubber ducks left melting on the stovetop

I’ve made up the pull-out
so she can spread like molasses
in bed before the sun sinks

poking around faux flowers
organizing organic soaps and sprays
fluff the pillow, bloom the blanket

I’ll reach out to pinch her arm
the only way I know to stretch
plant my frozen feet on her back

stay a while longer
I beg without begging

she’ll haunt this
hoax of a house

and it will never be
as clean as she left it
