‘Sorry If You Get Published’
Judy Jenks’ passion for photography began early, using polaroids, Instamatics, and other devices available in the 1970s. She mourns the days of film photography but is adapting to digital. She lives in Virginia and has published photography as well as writings of prose, poetry, and creative nonfiction.
sorry if you get published
i’ve been submitting to
top-tier
literary journals
about how sexting with you made me question
my sexuality.
i’d ask if you mind
but this is the first time i’ve seen you in months
and we aren’t that close.
the poem calls you a “little magnet”
and discusses how i’ve spent evenings
imagining how you taste. wrapped in bedsheets, spread before me like a feast.
don’t panic. i immortalize everyone.
you’re welcome.
anyway, you were great in Oklahoma! the Musical.
