The Raven With the Disco Plating
The Raven,
A bird,
Able to fly,
Craven,
Speaks words,
Consider it sly,
It spies,
Remembers,
Beady black eyes,
Bore holes,
Into your soul,
Spots lies,
Uses its talents,
In the mind,
It’s cries,
Haunting,
Hunting,
It’s prize,
The Raven With the Disco Plating
It’s silvery reflective wings glinting,
Shimmering, catching every ray of sun,
Standing regal,
Like a knight in shining armor,
Ready to conquer his opponent,
Leaving no room in his heart for mercy,
He gets ready to face the fierce dragon with a forlorn kind of certainty
The Raven With the Disco Plating
It stands for cunning intellect,
Allowing to solve complex problems with creativity,
Resulting in representation for both Ravenclaw and Baltimore,
Where resourcefulness and ingenuity abound,
After all, three eyes are better than two
The Raven With the Disco Plating
Ravens are worldwide
Birds that appear in many myths,
Represented in works as far back as
Antiquity,
Deuteronomy,
14:14,
And the Qur’an,
Where the ravens teach Cain
To bury his dead mother,
Travel further north, however,
And the battlefield is known as the Raven’s Feast,
Or even in the far east,
Where it’s cultural impact can be felt in Japan,
Where man and raven live side by side
A symbol in all cultures,
The Raven's history,
Is very much alive
The Raven With the Disco Plating
The disco, a dance, an era
Of wild expression,
A cultural revolution,
Creating new styles and thinking,
Laying the foundation,
For music and dance today,
Still relevant and prevalent,
It might have fallen away,
But in the modern art movement,
The impact of the era is still resonant
The Raven With the Disco Plating
The pinnacle of a destitute poet's career,
Tap-tap-tapping, on the window,
Waiting to deliver its message,
The name of the author now synonymous
With the name of the avian messenger,
The result of his fame
Even though within his lifetime he barely saw a cent,
For his hard work and best-known refrain
The Raven With the Disco Plating
