Between Absence and Desire

Flittering birds twitter, alight

On boughs scarred by blight,

Whilst melodies, ever sweet,

Drift amid the twilight ether

To where darkness lies 

And moonlight weaves 

Its gentle guise in the heart 

Of this shaded forest.

And like first glances, 

Between future lovers – 

One intrigued, the other 

As shadows are at dawn – 

Sweet song meets silence,

Under the bower 

Of the shaded forest.

Within this antediluvian space, 

This ancient dance enchants,

Lumin with Umber – eternal lovers 

Fated to find each other

In this life and all others,

In liminal space between 

Absence and desire.
